French fry perfection: Results are in for who has the best french fries in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY — In honor of National French Fry Day last Friday, July 12, we dared to ask the question — who makes the best French fries in Monroe County?

We reached out to our Facebook community for nominations. We watched as many of you responded passionately to the post. We collected the nominations and posted a list of local french fry artisans on our website, asking people to vote for their favorite.

The voting was furious, and after the polls closed at 11:59 p.m. Friday, July 12, these votes were counted.

The results are in.

Capturing an impressive 33.74% of the votes, Temperance's own, Smokehouse 734, emerged as the county's top spot for these delicious golden potato delights.

Public House (14.46%) and Sal's Place Family Restaurant (13.25%) round out the top three, while Detroit Beach Pizzeria (8.43%), Jazzy Steakburger (7.23%), Culver's (7.23%), Forest View Recreation Bar & Grill (6.02%), The Quarry (6.02%), Grafton Tavern (3.61%) and Benny's Home Cooking complete the top 10 places to get french fries in Monroe County.
