As if I wasn't already fired up for college football season... Today, the SEC Network shared a new hype vide for the forthcoming season that features Luke Combs' cover of Tom Petty's "Runnin’ Down a Dream," which was featured on the recent tribute album Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty
. It's not the first time Luke has teamed up with the conference, as his song "South on Ya" was also featured in promotional videos a couple years ago and is still an epic game day song to add to your playlist for this season, while we're on the topic here. And honestly, there's really no better pairing than Luke Combs and college football... especially if you've experienced football season in the South, you know how special it is and why it really is the greatest time of year. Waking up before dawn, packing cold ones for the tailgate, making food and hanging out with family and friends all before an afternoon kick off at your venue of choice, it's just the best . I could go on and on about why it's all so magical, but with this new teaser hitting social media, it's just one more indication that kickoff is so near and if you're team is in the SEC, you're going to be hearing this song a whole lot more all season long because it's the new anthem of the year:
"Turn this one ALL the way up. Our new SEC anthem is here!" August can't come soon enough... check it out: https://www.instagram.com/p/C9ciiF0OqY1/ And if you haven't Luke's full studio cover yet, you can listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVVjE_moC3I
