    Mom Arrested After Toddlers Found Unattended at Florida Construction Site

    Lehigh Acres, FL - A Southwest Florida mother faces charges after her three young children were found playing unsupervised at a nearby construction site.

    According to police, 30-year-old Darline Sain Val was arrested on Friday morning after a neighbor discovered the 2, 3, and 5-year-old children outside their home.

    Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Val after she left her kids home alone on Thursday, and a neighbor saw them playing at a construction site next door.

    Val reportedly told authorities she had to work and lacked childcare options.

    Experts warn of the dangers of leaving young children unattended in Florida due to high rates of child deaths related to vehicles, streets, bicycles, and drowning.
