Costco's pet section is truly iconic. Wholesale stores in general are on the rise; they're incredibly cost-effective, especially compared to the $6 boxes of cereal you can find at most grocery stores... But, more than that, their selection is unmatched.

Cat parents all over have been loving Costco's cat trees for some time. They're big, usually pretty visually appealing, and, best of all, affordable. They're only getting more affordable: as of a post from Sunday, July 13th, Costco's most popular cat tree was $20 off!

I'm glad Costco Empties decided not to gate-keep this deal: it's too good to pass up! If I had a cat, I would totally be running full-speed-ahead to get one (and stopping for a chicken along the way).

This cat tree dropped in June of this year, and since it did, cat parents everywhere have been scooping them up. It's adorable, unlike some of the other eye-sores cat parents sometimes have to deal with. There are 6 levels to the cat tree and it features several "hideaway" spots as well as a few open-air beds as well. It has everything a cat tree should have: beds, hiding places, toys attached, scratching posts, etc.,.

You can usually get this one for $96.99, but now through July 21st, you can get it for $20 off, bringing your total down to $76.99. It might not seem like a ton of money, and it's surely more expensive than other options, but it's tall, it's cute, and it really is a good deal for the quality you're getting.

Should I Replace My Cat Tree?

As the most excessive dog mom in the world, I have to let you know that you can still get this one, even if you already have a perfectly fine cat tree. You can always have more than one out in separate rooms or even next to each other to create a "mega" cat tree, which is always fun. Or, if you have space to store one, you can just swap them out regularly!

Indoor cats need a lot of enrichment to stay happy, since they're not going outside and getting their enrichment from being in danger. There are lots of ways to enrich your cat's environment, but toys and cat trees are some of the most important. Generally, you should swap out your cat's toys regularly to prevent them from getting bored.

You can do the same thing with cat trees! Swapping them out every so often will give the cat new places to climb and scratch. Adding in some interesting smells or catnip spray will help them get used to it if they're wary.

As far as replacement goes, cats can be rough on their trees, and you can usually expect 3-5 years of use out of a good-quality tree . If the tree is starting to fray or buckle, you should definitely replace it, but there's really no need to do that before then, especially if you're rotating them. A good cat tree like this one could last for years!
