Trump Praises Judge’s Dismissal of Classified Docs Case as ‘First Step’ to ‘END All Weaponization of Our Justice System’

Former President Donald Trump reacted favorably to news that the judge he appointed, Aileen Cannon , had dismissed Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into his alleged illegal possession of classified documents.

A 93-page court order released Monday granted Trump’s motion to dismiss the case “based on the unlawful appointment and funding of Special Counsel Jack Smith .” The order states that Smith’s appointment as special counsel overseeing the case violates the Appointments Clause in the Constitution.

Just two days after surviving an assassination attempt, Trump took to social media to laud the decision, writing, “As we move forward in Uniting our Nation after the horrific events on Saturday, this dismissal of the Lawless Indictment in Florida should be just the first step,” before adding that there should be “dismissal of ALL the Witch Hunts.” He then listed a half dozen legal cases that perhaps inadvertently paraded the vast array of legal problems he’s faced.

Trump posted on Truth Social:

As we move forward in Uniting our Nation after the horrific events on Saturday, this dismissal of the Lawless Indictment in Florida should be just the first step, followed quickly by the dismissal of ALL the Witch Hunts — The January 6th Hoax in Washington, D.C., the Manhattan D.A.’s Zombie Case, the New York A.G. Scam, Fake Claims about a woman I never met (a decades old photo in a line with her then husband does not count), and the Georgia “Perfect” Phone Call charges. The Democrat Justice Department coordinated ALL of these Political Attacks, which are an Election Interference conspiracy against Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, ME. Let us come together to END all Weaponization of our Justice System, and Make America Great Again!

Some social media users noted that his attack on “The Democrat Justice Department coordinated ALL of these Political Attacks” is a sudden departure from a new tone of “ unity ” Trump and his surrogates have made an effort to convey following the shooting and as the Republican National Convention is about to start.
