Dinosaur Expedition to return to 2024 NYS Fair

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Everyone’s favorite prehistoric attraction is making its return to the Expo Center.

The New York State Fair announced that the Dinosaur Expedition will be back again this summer and for all 13 days of the Fair.

Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, July 16, alongside admission, parking, and midway tickets.

“Featuring more than 60 true-to-life-size, prehistoric, life-like dinosaurs – will transform the Expo Center into something resembling 65 million years ago,” said the Fair.

The exhibit will have hatchlings measuring three feet tall as well as full-grown creatures at 35 feet and spanning up to 80 feet. Visitors can walk through and see Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor, Brachiosaurus, and Stegosaurus.

“The Fair is the perfect opportunity for family-friendly memories and fun and if you didn’t get a chance to see this interactive, immersive exhibit last year, you won’t want to miss it this summer,” said Fair Director, Julie LaFave.

Educational components of the exhibit include:

• Story Time : Every hour on the hour, DINOSAUR EXPEDITIONS will host Story Time, a 10-minute session where a dinosaur – chaperoned by a member of the “Crewasaurus” human team – will read a dinosaur-themed book to children out loud. Each Story Time session is first-come, first-served and open to 30 participants at a time.
• Fossil Dig and Skeletons : Participants of all ages will also be able to learn through a hands-on “Fossil Dig” experience. Plus, there are multiple skulls and fossils of prehistoric creatures to admire.

There will also be some interactive features, including selfie spots and photo ops, available to those who go.
