A brazen golf fan has been heard shouting a phrase at The Scottish Open that has sent the internet into overdrive over the last few weeks.

'Hawk Tuah,' made famous by 23-year-old Hailey Welch , who is now known as Hawk Tuah Girl , made its way across the pond this weekend after it was yelled at the famous tournament just as Robert MacIntyre teed off.

The phrase reared its head once again at another sporting event, this time during the final round of the Genesis Scottish Open on Sunday, after gold fans at both the PGA Tour and the LIV Golf Nashville events got their fill.

While attending the Renaissance Club, one golf enthusiast either deliberately or inadvertently positioned himself next to a microphone and bellowed " Hawk Tuah " - meaning those at the event and millions at home heard him.

The line comes from Hailey Welch who, during a street interview in Nashville earlier this month, when she was asked for her favorite sex tip , controversially replied: "“You gotta give ’em that ‘ hawk tuah ’ and spit on that thang.”

The crowd didn't seem to stir and there was no word from the commentators or other golfers about the rude interruption. MacIntyre gained his second victory at The Scottish Open after capturing his first career PGA Tour victory earlier this year at the Canadian Open.

He nearly won it all, finishing second place to Rory McIlroy in 2023 by just one stroke. Speaking to CBS, MacIntyre said: "I’m going to celebrate this with my family, friends, and everyone here. I’m going to celebrate this one hard."

Meanwhile, Amanda Balionis shared snaps of her at The Scottish Open with her followers. Balionis posted a carousel of photos from her trip across the Atlantic which included watching the Euros and tucking into fish and chips.

Scotland’s National Open took place from July 11 to 14. As the official CBS Sports reporter for PGA Tour golf, Balionis traveled to Scotland to be part of the event.
