BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) — It’s time to get rid of your summer stacks of old papers and notes.

Broome County is hosting another paper shredding event this weekend. On Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., all residents in Broome County are welcomed to go down to SUNY Broome parking lot 1 and and shred some paper drive-thru style.

The Broome County Division of Solid Waste Management is hosting the event, allowing each car driving through to bring up to four full document boxes for shredding. You won’t even need to leave your car as county staff will take the paper from your car; just go, shred, and you’re done!

    Accepted materials for shredding includes:

    • Paper of any size or color
    • Paper with staples or paper clips
    • Sticky notes
    • White envelopes with or without windows
    • Manila folders
    • Business cards

Materials that will NOT be accepted:

    • Glass or plastic of any kind
    • Hanging file folders
    • Microfiche or film
    • Carbon paper
