Going for gold: A look at some New Jersey athletes heading to the Paris Olympic Games

Team USA athletes from all over the country will head to Paris next week, including 22 athletes from New Jersey.

Jack Yonezuka

Jack Yonezuka, 21, a judo sensation from West Long Branch, is a third-generation Olympian. Yonezuka made history as the first U.S. man to win a medal at the Junior World Championships in 2022. Amy Wang

(AP Photo/Fernando Vergara) Amy Wang, 21, is an Olympic table tennis athlete. The Sewell native comes from a family of table tennis players and made her first U.S. National Team at just 12-years-old. Wang made it to the world championship stage before qualifying for the games earlier this year. This is Wang's first time at the Olympics. Scottie Scheffler

(AP Photo/Ashley Landis) And the fan favorite, 28-year-old Scottie Scheffler, of Ridgewood, is heading to Paris this year. The golf pro has an impressive 12 PGA wins under his belt along with securing two Masters green jackets. This will be his first time at the Olympic games. John Tolkin

John Tolkin, 21, is a soccer player and current member of the New York Red Bulls. The Chatham native joined the Red Bulls academy when he was just 13 years old. This will be his first time at the Olympics. Elizabeth Tartakovsky
