This stand-alone sequel to the popular 1996 disaster flick, Twister, is helmed by Lee Isaac Chung, the writer/director of the Oscar-nominated 2020 drama Minari. Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, and Anthony Ramos star as the film’s storm-chasing protagonists, who hunt down dangerous tornados in the name of science. It sounds like a pseudo-remake of the original Twister, which starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton.

There are a total of two Twiste r movies, if you include the new movie opening in theaters this week. Twisters (2024) is intended as a standalone sequel to the original 1996 Twister film.

Right now, the only way to watch the 2024 Twisters movie is in a movie theater. Twisters opens in theaters nationwide on Thursday, July 18. You can find a screening at a movie theater near you via Fandango.
