DALLAS (KDAF) — Chef Robotics is revolutionizing the food industry with its new AI-powered flexible food robot, designed to address the global food labor shortage and boost production. This innovative robot combines off-the-shelf hardware with cutting-edge AI, allowing it to handle various tasks, unlike traditional robots limited to single functions.

Targeting food manufacturing rather than restaurants, Chef’s robots can partially automate operations, enhancing production without needing full autonomy initially. These robots use ChefOS, Chef’s unique food manipulation software, and have already assembled over 20 million servings in facilities across North America.

By improving with each meal, Chef’s AI models for food manipulation become more adept at handling different ingredients and portion sizes. Chef’s robots are already delivering ROI for major food manufacturers like Amy’s Kitchen, Sunbasket, and Chef Bombay. For instance, Chef Bombay saw a 30% reduction in standard deviation, an 88% decrease in food wastage, a 33% increase in labor productivity, and a 9% boost in throughput.

As Chef’s AI becomes more autonomous, the company aims to expand from industrial food production to ghost kitchens and eventually into every commercial kitchen in the country. Explore more on Chef’s new website .
