In the first corner of the second moto from the Spring Creek National, Team Honda HRC's Chance Hymas dabbed his right foot on the ground, causing an ankle injury that sent him to the Alpinestars Mobile Medical rig for a thorough evaluation, unable to complete the moto and an outcome of a DNF.

Chance has been dealing with an ACL injury this year, and initially, we thought that was the issue when he was heading to the Alpinestars rig to get looked at. However, upon evaluation, the ankle was the problem. It is "pretty banged up" from his point of view, and he says, “going to do what I can to be ready for Washougal.”

Team Honda HRC’s team manager Lars Lindstrom was on the RacerX Weege Show Millville Recap with Jason Weigandt and stated: “I swear that Chance started losing the front, stuck his leg out, and then it caught. (Haiden) Deegan was right there and hit his leg. It's an ankle, (the) other leg ankle (the opposite leg ACL injury), which is not great from that. They x-rayed him already. Nothing broken. Bone bruising, most likely, with a good sprain. Hopefully no ligament damage. I think we might have to get that checked out. It sounded like it was that, and he couldn't put any weight on it.”

Hymas sat second overall in the 250MX points behind Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan before the incident occurred. A DNF from that second moto cost him valuable points in the championship, losing that second place spot and dropping back to 4th behind Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle.
