Stunning Irish resort named best in UK and Ireland at prestigious awards

A stunning Irish resort has won a top prize and been named the best of its kind in both Ireland and the UK . The Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards are now in their 29th year.

Recently, they published a massive list of reader favorites from around the world . Among them was a list of the best resorts in the UK and Ireland with an Irish spot coming out on top.

Ballyfin Demesne is located in Co Laois . The stunning resort is comprised of a country hotel and excellently manicured lands at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains.

The 614-acre estate consists only of twenty bedrooms and a private one-bedroom Gardeners Cottage, making it one of the most exclusive stays in Ireland. The interiors transport you back in time and exude pure luxury.

Travel + Leisure surveys their readers to come up with these lists. A staggering 186,000 people completed the 2024 survey.

Ballyfin Demense earned itself a score of 96.22 in the survey. This gave it the top spot when it came to resorts in the UK and Ireland.

In the past, Ballyfin has welcomed the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. "This grand Georgian manor in Ireland’s Slieve Bloom Mountains earned runner-up status on our last two surveys," the publication writes.

"Spread across 614 acres of impeccably manicured grounds, the hotel comprises just 20 bedrooms and one private one-bedroom cottage, offering privacy and deeply personalized service."

Ballyfin beat some tough competition for the number 1 spot. The top four spots were all filled by Irish hotels.
