This past Saturday night’s pre-taped episode of Collision featured a match between Dalton Castle and Roderick Strong, with the winner due to challenge ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe at Death Before Dishonor. And while it wasn’t evident for those watching at home thanks to some clever editing, Dave Meltzer has now reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Strong’s jumping knee legitimately knocked out Castle, with it noted the flamboyant wrestler was down for several minutes. As of writing, there hasn’t been any update on Castle’s condition, although the fact he has been active on social media is a positive sign.

“He got knocked out. The referee counts 1-2, held up the count because it wasn’t supposed to be the pin, then counted the 3 because Dalton Castle never moved. They didn’t show Dalton Castle. He was on the ground for several minutes, so they didn’t show any of that.”

38-year-old Castle broke into the business in 2009 after starting out as an amateur wrestler. His big break would then come in 2015 when he made his television debut for Ring of Honor. From there, he would work his way up the card and achieve his career highlight in 2017 when he won the ROH Championship from Cody Rhodes at Final Battle. Subsequently, despite dealing with a back injury, he held the title for six months, successfully defending it against names like Jay Lethal, Marty Scurll, Damian Priest, and EVIL.
