It is quite possible, and arguably already a sure bet, that Caitlin Clark is doing the best among all rookies in turning around an organization quickly.

The Indiana Fever were a downtrodden team and organization that has received an infusion of youth from Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston in the last two WNBA drafts.

Their efforts are leading the turnaround for the Fever who currently sit at 11-14 on the season and have reached a new high in the WNBA ESPN power rankings . The Fever came in at No. 5 this week.

    5. Indiana Fever (11-14)

    Previous ranking: 6

This week: @ DAL (July 17)

Sunday’s 81-74 win in Minneapolis — in an arena Caitlin Clark is well familiar with — was especially impressive, particularly in how the Fever doubled up the Lynx in the fourth quarter 28-14. Aliyah Boston notched her first career 15-point, 15-rebound game, and while Clark’s streak of consecutive double-doubles was snapped at five, she is averaging 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists per contest through her first 25 games of the season, something only Ionescu (twice), Candace Parker and Lindsay Whalen have done.

The Fever’s next game comes against the Dallas Wings on Wednesday, July 17. The Wings currently sit at 5-19 overall and are in last place in the entire WNBA. Following that, the Fever hit a pause until August 16 while the All-Star Game and Olympics take place.

The Fever are currently holding the No. 7 seed in the WNBA playoffs at the moment and a win could potentially get them within a half-game of the Phoenix Mercury who sit just above them at 12-12.
