Who is Giancarlo Esposito playing in Captain America: Brave New World?

No one knows what character Giancarlo Esposito is playing in Captain America: Brave New World , but there are plenty of rumors.

The Breaking Bad actor, who appears in the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World is dressed in a trench coat and sunglasses as he wields a machine gun. With a mean look on his face, Esposito seems to be in villain mode. But which one of Marvel’s many villains could he be?

Some say he’s a member of mercenary group the Serpent Society, and a secondary villain to Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk.

Others claim he’s playing a character called George Washington Bridge, who has ties to both Cable's Wild Pack and S.H.I.E.L.D. in the comics. Don't forget about The Incredible Hulk star set to appear in Captain America: Brave New World .

During an appearance at a convention, filmed by Twitter user @ResonantJustice and embedded below, Esposito says, “I’m not telling you who I’m playing, because people have tried to guess and no one’s guessed correctly yet, so it’s been a big thing online.”

Whoever Esposito’s playing, he’s said previously the character will appear in a Disney+ TV series after his debut in Captain America: Brave New World . Odds are high that series is either Daredevil: Born Again or Ironheart .
