Pets died in RV fire on I-79 in Harrison County Monday

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — The RV and car fire in Harrison County that injured three people on Monday also killed several pets.
According to the Valley Volunteer Fire Department , three patients made it out of the vehicles and were transported for burn injuries, but several pets were unable to escape.
Details about the severity of the patients’ burns were not released, but all three were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Officials with the Harrison County 911 Center have confirmed that southbound traffic of Interstate 79 has reopened following an RV fire Monday afternoon that injured three people.
The official said that traffic at mile marker 126 is open and that the West Virginia Division of Highways still has a crew on the scene.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — All three people who were injured in the RV fire on Interstate 79 in Harrison County Monday afternoon are in stable condition, Bridgeport Fire Department officials told 12 News.
As of 4:15 p.m. Monday, traffic on I-79 south was still backed up to as far as the Downtown Fairmont exit, which is more than 10 miles from where the fire happened.
According to a 12 News reporter at the scene, the fire has been extinguished, but crews are still working to clear the wreckage.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Interstate 79 south is expected to be shut down for an “extended period” after an RV fire sent three people to the hospital Monday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Bridgeport Office of Emergency Management, crews are currently cleaning up the wreckage, with no estimated reopening time, according to Fire Department Deputy Chief Greg Pigg. Northbound lanes are open but moving slowly, the release said.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Crews are at the scene of a fully ingulfed vehicle fire on Interstate 79 that has completely stopped southbound traffic.
According to the Harrison County 911 log, an RV hauling a car is on fire on the southbound side of the interstate at mile marker 126—which is just north of the Saltwell Road/Shinnston exit. Three patients have been transported to WVU Medicine Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown by Bridgeport, Anmoore and Marion County EMS.
Southbound traffic is at a standstill, Harrison County 911 officials told 12 News, and northbound traffic is also backed up, according to the West Virginia 511.
Crews from both Harrison and Marion County are responding, including the Bridgeport, Nutter Fort, Spelter, Boothsville, and Valley fire departments.
