The Mt Hood Sectionals meet saw some really phenomenal racing by junior swimmers. On the first two days of the meet, Portland Aquatic Club 16-year-old Mena Boardman was on fire. Boardman won an individual event on each of the first two days of the meet. She kicked things off with a huge personal best of 56.62 en route to winning the women’s 100 free. Boardman entered the day with a personal best of 57.43, marking an improvement of nearly a second with her finals swim. She showed her speed off in that race, taking it out in a speedy 27.04 on the first 50.

The swim marked a personal best for the youngster, coming in under her previous best of 2:16.30. She was out fast, splitting 31.68 on the first 50, then split 34.90, 35.00, and 34.16 respectively the rest of the way.
