Disney's New Stays Offer Wholesome Glamping For The Whole Family

Disney Vacation Club’s 17th property, The Cabins, is set to offer luxury in the great outdoors with 350 glamping lodgings on Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Campground.

The site is working toward transitioning all of its cabins into luxe campers. The first round of reimagined cabins opened on July 1.

The glamping-style stays offer sleeping space for six, making them great for multi-generational vacays. Each cabin has two queen beds and a bunk bed. It also has a full-service kitchen, a dining area, a living room, a walk-in shower, and ample storage. There are two TVs (one in the bedroom and one in the living room), and travelers can bring their pets for added fun with loved ones.

There’s parking in front of the cabins for vehicles or golf carts. Each location is additionally outfitted with a deck patio, outdoor seating, and a charcoal grill.

Senior interior designer with Walt Disney Imagineering, Suzanne Szak, told People why she considers The Cabins “a bit of glamping.”

“The new cabins have a much more open, modern feel, much lighter and brighter,” she explained. “We still have touches of wood on the floor, the ceiling, the furniture of course. But it’s a much more updated, modern palette. The windows bring a lot of natural light that connect guests to nature, which is something we really wanted to do.”

What Can Visitors Expect From The Cabins At Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Campground?

Campers can enjoy Disney’s magic via the resort’s entertainment and food options. The glamping experience at The Cabins includes access to the property’s trails and pool areas. There are canoeing, kayaking, biking, and various courts for the sporty. The adventurous and fun might enjoy archery, horseback riding, a starlit movie screening, and a Chip’ N’ Dale’s campfire singalong.

The resort’s lush campgrounds are 750 acres of Florida flora and fauna. Visitors might see wildlife, including rabbits, armadillos, deer, and ducks.
