And just like that, Baby Jake Kastrosar is a year old! The Young & The Restless star Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) and her husband, television exec Matt Katrosar, celebrated their younger son’s first birthday on July 14, and to commemorate the special occasion, the actress put together a very special Instagram post chronicling the past 12 months!
“Baby Jake! Jake Joseph. We can’t believe you are one today,” the Y&R star wrote to her little boy, who arrived several weeks ahead of her August due date last summer. “You came into this world a month early, 10 days in the NICU, you were and are such a fighter and strong little boy. Every time you lock eyes with someone, you smile. You’re a true little angel and bring everyone such joy. We love you so much. Happy Birthday, my baby.”
In addition to the adorable photos Egan included in Jake’s birthday gallery, the actress has shared a handful of other pictures of her sweet baby boy over the past year. Scroll through the gallery below to see just how much Jake Joseph has grown in one year!
The actress shared some cuddles with her little guy, who had to spend his first few days in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Egan’s older son, Caden, quickly got the hang of being the protective big brother!
For his first Halloween, Jake wore the same pirate costume that his big brother had worn!
On Jake’s nine-month birthday, Egan shared the cutest picture of her little guy showing off his toothy grin — and apologized for his second-child hand-me-downs. “Baby Jake! How are you 9 months old today?! We love you so much! And will be calling you Baby Jake ‘til you’re 40. Also, I’m sorry most of your stuff (minus this chair) says ‘Caden.’”
Rocking a pair of bright green sunglasses, the birthday boy took a cruise around the house in his push car ride-on toy.
