    Maryland State Police arrest man after finding mushrooms, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy in car

    BALTIMORE, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Maryland State Police (MSP) said it arrested a man early Sunday morning after finding suspected controlled substances during a traffic stop.

    Shortly before 3:30 a.m., a trooper stopped 31-year-old Dwayne Purdie Jr. for allegedly driving under the influence on I-695. During the stop, investigators conducted a K-9 scan on his Honda Accord.

    Troopers found suspected cocaine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, ecstasy and heroin during a search of the car.

    Purdie was taken to the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack for processing. He was charged with felony drug distribution, two counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl/heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    He was seen by a District Court commissioner and has since been released.
