Humanetics in Farmington Hills has hired Bruno Brun as vice president of global operations, reporting to Mark Westen, president of Humanetics Safety.

Brun will be responsible for the global manufacturing and operations relating to the company’s physical hardware. This includes responsibility for the operational planning, sourcing, production, quality, continuous improvement, and process development.

Brun brings experience in low volume, complex manufacturing businesses like Essen Biosciences, Visteon, Karmann, TRW, Johnson Controls, and Meritor. He also brings a global perspective to manufacturing having worked in France, China, Spain, Italy, India, and Mexico, while predominantly based in Detroit.

“We are fortunate enough to be growing fast. Bruno understands these challenges of introducing new production lines for low volume, complex manufacturing across multiple facilities,” says Westen, president of Humanetics Safety. “His experience growing and scaling production, implementing new systems, driving continuous improvement and working within the automotive industry, as well as in other demanding areas like biomedical, will help us sustain the highest standards that are needed, as well as support the demands of our growth.”

Brun says, “Humanetics is such an iconic company, with a long heritage of innovation and precision engineering. It also has an ambitious vision to integrate its hardware and software capabilities and develop solutions that manage data captured in the sensors to help customers manage the safety development lifecycle. I am excited for the operational challenge as well as for the opportunity to work at the heart of the safety business and make a difference in people’s lives.”
