Florida Panhandle beach named one of the best snorkeling spots by Southern Living

PANAMA CITY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – The Sunshine State is famous for its picturesque views, and turquoise waters, but life under the water’s surface is just as beautiful.

If you haven’t added snorkeling to your bucket list, now is the time especially if you’re in the Panhandle.

Southern Living has recognized Jetty Beach in St. Andrews State Park as one of the ’12 Best Beaches for Snorkeling in Florida,’ ranking #7 on their list.

“Snorkel Northwest Florida’s St. Andrews State Park to see why the Panhandle is called the Emerald Coast,” the publication’s Coastal Living column wrote.

A rock jetty forms a lagoon protected from the Gulf of Mexico that’s easy to snorkel and flanked by a white sand beach. It’s a perfect way for beginners and families with children to escape the heat.
