    Abilene man accused of assaulting 3 disabled people, 2 others gets prison time

    ABILENE, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – An Abilene man accused of assaulting 3 disabled people and two others during a crime spree at a local apartment complex has been sentenced to prison.

    Emmanuel Ramson received a 6-year prison sentence Friday after pleading guilty to 3 counts of Injury to a Disabled Person in connection to a series of events that happened at the Villages of Westgate apartment complex in June 2021.

    Court documents state a wheelchair-bound victim told police he was sitting outside when Ramson approached him and began punching him with a closed fist.

    Ramson’s neighbor, who is also disabled, and Ramson’s wife, who is also disabled and in a wheelchair, both tried to intervene.

    The documents state Ramson swung the neighbor around and threw him on the ground then hit the wife multiple times until she tased him, which caused him to flee.

    Ramson then banged on the door of a nearby apartment, and the documents state when the resident opened the door, he pushed her into a bookshelf and forced his way inside, injuring her husband during an altercation as well.

    When officers arrested Ramson shortly after the assaults, the documents state he did have methamphetamine on his person.
