The WNBA has seen an insane rise in popularity during the 2024 season, thanks to this year's rookie class. Stars like Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, and Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink have really brought in a new spotlight the league has never seen before.

Despite Brink going down for the rest of the season with an ACL tear she suffered in mid-June, the WNBA is still going strong. Clark and Reese have shown that their basketball skills can translate well from college to the pros.

In an interview with Flaunt Magazine , Brink discussed the enthusiasm the WNBA has seen recently and used one word to describe the impact these rookies have brought in.

"It’s kind of groundbreaking," Brink said.

"It’s just really exciting and honestly unfamiliar for me to have this much attention around women’s sports and women’s basketball, but we embrace it," the Sparks rookie added.

WNBA game attendance has seen a significant rise from 2023 to 2024 across all teams, with the Fever experiencing the most notable increase. Following Clark's arrival, attendance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse surged by more than 12,000 fans per game. Even the Las Vegas Aces, who won the previous two WNBA titles, have seen a significant rise in attendance.

These rookies have definitely made a "groundbreaking" difference in the league.
