FEMA said nearly a thousand people have already been approved. They said people who own or rent in any of the 11 counties eligible and were affected by the storms from April 2-6 can apply for disaster assistance.

The following counties are eligible: Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Marshall, Nicholas, Ohio, Putnam, Wayne and Wetzel.
