After his two-mile excursion in the sewer, he peeked out of a curb’s inlet near a police station and an officer saw Mack’s “bright blue eyes.” With some help, the officer lifted a manhole cover and Mack was rescued, ending his excursion.

“His family was frantically searching for him and was relieved to learn that he was safe at our shelter,” the shelter stated in the post. “They were also thrilled when we offered to microchip him at no cost to help him find his way back home faster in the future.”

The shelter said Mack assured them he would be on his best behavior, ending “an adventure that almost sounds too unreal to be true.”
