I’ve tried a lot of different hair tools throughout the years, but if there’s one brand I trust and return to time and time again, it’s T3. Their flat iron was one of the first “working woman” purchases I made as a newly graduated marketing assistant making peanuts, and I continued using that same iron until I was well into my career as a beauty editor , some seven years later.

From my experience, T3’s tools have always delivered consistent results and are built to last, which is why, when the brand announced they were launching an all-in-one styling tool, I was enticed enough to want to try it, despite the fact that I’ve never really been big on blow drying my hair .

How Is the T3 Aire 360 Different from the Dyson AirWrap?

Let’s get this out of the way first, because I know that’s what most people are curious about. First, there’s the obvious and significant price difference between the two tools: The T3 Aire 360 costs $300, whereas the Dyson AirWrap is $600.

Upon unboxing the T3 Aire 360, I was pleasantly surprised to see that everything came packaged in a sleek drawstring carrying case with smart inner pockets that hold each of the attachments. As someone who detests clutter, I found this to be way more space efficient than the giant vault that the Dyson AirWrap (and similar tools) come in.

How Does the T3 Aire 360 Work?

Like its predecessors, the T3 Aire 360 utilizes heated airflow to wrap up sections of hair around its barrel, resulting in soft, bouncy curls that mimic a blowout.

The tool has three speeds and three heat settings, with the highest temps reaching up to 237 degrees Fahrenheit, which T3 determined as the hottest temperature you can use to set a style without causing damage to your hair in the process. That said, be warned that the barrels can get very hot, so make sure to handle them from their cool tips on top when switching out the attachments.

Therein lies the one major drawback of the T3 Aire 360: You have to switch out the barrels to curl either side of your hair. Dyson definitely gets the upper hand here for figuring out how to switch up the direction of your curls using just one attachment.

Even still, after putting both tools (and pretty much every “airstyling” or “self-curling” hair tool out there) to the test, the T3 Aire 360 comes out on top—especially considering how much bang you get for your buck.

    Would I Recommend the T3 Aire 360?

Yes, I’d recommend the Aire 360 to anyone who regularly blow dries their hair and/or anyone who never quite got a handle on using a curling iron; a tool like this could be easier for you to maneuver.

As for me? I’ve come to the realization that I’m probably not the target demo for this type of all-in-one styling tool. I typically air dry my naturally wavy hair, and when I do style it, I prefer using a curling iron to add some definition without upping the volume. So, although the Aire 360 is a beautifully crafted tool that I can appreciate, I don’t think I’ll use it quite as much as my trusty T3 Curl ID iron.

The good news is whether you decide to try the new Aire 360 or opt for one of the brand’s other styling tools instead, you can rest assured that it’ll last for many years.
