ESPN's Monica McNutt Criticized After Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese WNBA Rookie of the Year Logic Shifts

The WNBA Rookie of the Year Award race between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese has been, is and will continue to be one of the most fascinating topics of the sports world throughout this WNBA season.

Many fans believe that the rookie with the better statistical success should earn the ROTY award.

But ESPN analyst Monica McNutt has had a different take. She has gone on record multiple times stating that, to her, the most important factor of the ROTY race is where each team finishes in the standings.

And because the Chicago Sky had been above the Fever in the WNBA standings prior to this weekend, that meant McNutt was selecting Angel Reese for Rookie of the Year.

But after the Fever's win against the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday -- in which McNutt was commentating -- Indiana leapfrogged Chicago in the standings.

And one fan went viral for noting that must mean McNutt's Rookie of the Year stance has switched.

"Monica McNutt really watched her standings agenda go to shreds in person today, that’s real poetry to me," X user @fettyfilm posted. The post has more than 115,000 views.
