Zip-lining comes with some risks. Go ahead and try to think of some of those accepted risks. I can almost guarantee that you could rattle off five or six and you still wouldn't come to close to what exactly happened to these tourists. Though I guess you did read the headline and clicked on this story, so you've got some sort of idea what went down. This footage is currently going viral online even though it was posted in March of 2022. Sometimes it just takes a minute for a clip to get the attention it deserves, and that's definitely the case with this one. It's one of the wildest videos you'll ever see. It appears that a father and son were zip-lining through a densely wooded area together. With all of their gear on and their helmets in place, the dad gave the go ahead for his son to push off and go flying through the forest. The father wasn't too far behind and got himself going shortly afterwards. The first few seconds of the ride must have been beautiful, but things got scary real quick when the younger kid noticed a sloth was suspended from the zip-lining cable mere feet in front of him. As you might imagine, there's not much "obstacle avoidance" you can do while on a zip line, so the son smacked right into the sloth. When scary things like this happen, it can often seem like it all unraveled in slow motion. That's even more the case when it's a sloth that you're accidentally running into. Sloths are notably slow, and can only reach top speeds of around 1.5 miles per hour. So the sloth wasn't going to be able to do anything to get out of the way either. The zip-liners and the sloth were heading for a collision course, and that's ultimately what happened:

I'd say the sloth and the two zip-liners were equally scared. But thankfully, it appears that everyone was okay after the crash. The sloth regained its grip on the cable and started crawling away from the two human beings... and there's no telling how long the zip-liners waited for it to get out of the way. That's what social media users loved pointing out in the comment section below the post:
"He’s like, 'Oops sorry guys let just move out of your way in 3-5 business years.'" "My toxic trait is I would've grabbed it, clung it to me like great sloths do, and kept on zippin'." "Mythology says they’re still waiting for the sloth to get out of the way." "Gonna be a while before that traffic jam clears up." "That sloth said, 'G lad to see you made it, I'll be your jungle guide for this evening'"
