    Ana Silva Ramos.

Team USA has certainly made its presence known at the last several Summer Olympics when it comes to women's beach volleyball. There are a few things you should know, however, before you go ahead and back them with your Paris Olympics bets.

It's true, the U.S. has medaled in women's beach volleyball in five straight Summer Games and brought home gold four of those times including at the 2020 Games in Tokyo. Yet despite their long run of dominating the competition, they aren't the betting favorite at FanDuel to repeat that success.

Here's what you need to know about the competition and where you should consider putting your money.

To be fair, the Sarah Hughes-Kelly Cheng pair and Kristen Nuss-Taryn Kloth pair for Team USA are both listed quite favorably at +340 in FanDuel's women's beach volleyball odds. However, Brazil's Ana Silva Ramos and Eduarda Santos Lisboa are the betting favorites at +185 odds.

The reason for the listing? Past Olympic experience and recent volleyball matchups.

USA Volleyball informs us that Cheng is the only member of the women's teams that has any Olympic experience and finished tied for ninth in Tokyo in 2021. (Reigning gold medalists April Ross and Alix Klineman will not be part of the team in Paris.) Meanwhile, Ramos and Lisboa missed the podium in Tokyo but enter the Paris Games as the No. 1-ranked women's beach volleyball team.

Brazil also got a leg up on Team USA at the 2024 Volleyball Nations League. Ramos was a member of the team that defeated the United States 3-1, marking the first time the Brazilians defeated the Americans since 2019.

There may be two solid U.S. teams to back with your Paris Olympics bets when it comes to women's beach volleyball. When it comes to experience and current standing, however, it's easy to see why to Brazilian duo of Ramos and Lisboa have shorter odds.

Women's beach volleyball gets underway at the 2024 Summer Olympics on July 27.
