Armie Hammer admitted he’s “never been happier” despite being “broke” more than three years after being “canceled” over rape and “cannibal” allegations.
Claiming he has nothing left to lose, he told host Bill Maher, “Someone might look at me and go, ‘Yeah, but financially, you’re in a very different position than you’ve ever been in your entire life.'”

Hammer, 37, continued, “And I look at that and I go, ‘Yeah, And you know what it’s taught me is that I don’t need that because I’ve never been happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life.'”
Before losing his money, the actor explained his lifestyle would have resulted in his demise, adding “I know that that would ultimately lead in one place and that’s death.”
“My life was going on a certain way and there was – it’s Newton’s laws right,” he added. “An object in motion is going to remain in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. My life was in motion.
“I was making a lot of money. I was drinking a lot. I was doing a lot of drugs. I was partying hard. I was being real fast and loose about what I put in text messages. And I was also engaging in risky behavior that, if you really think about it, was stupid.”

Since stepping away from the spotlight, Hammer has created a morning routine and actively meditates to “connect with nature” rather than spending so much time online.
“It was pretty great,” the “Social Network” star said elsewhere in the episode. “It’s incredibly liberating because so much of my life leading up to there was being preoccupied with how I was perceived, which now you don’t have to care about.”
In 2021, Hammer’s ex Courtney Vucekovich claimed he allegedly told her that “he wants to break my rib and barbecue and eat it.” Facebook Around the same time, he was accused of accused of “mentally, emotionally and sexually” abusing his ex-girlfriend Effie Angelova when she was 20 years old. He added, “Once everyone just decides that they hate you, you go, ‘Oh, well, then I don’t need anything from you people anyway. I guess I should just learn to be content with myself.’ And then you go do that, and it feels f–king amazing.”
That same year, his ex Courtney Vucekovich came forward, telling Page Six Hammer allegedly told her “he wants to break my rib and barbecue and eat it.”

Amid the allegations, Hammer’s 10-year marriage to Chambers crumbled as she filed for divorce in July 2020. The two share 9-year-old daughter, Harper Grace, and 7-year-old son, Ford Douglas.
In June 2024, Hammer finally spoke out about the rumors during an episode of the “Painful Lessons” podcast.
“People called me a cannibal, and everyone believed them,” he said. “They’re like, ‘Yep, that guy ate people.’ Like, what? What are you talking about? Do you know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to eat people! How am I going to be a cannibal?! It was bizarre.”
