ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Local little league teams got a big boost on Monday. Price Chopper/Market 32 donated more than $50,000 to community groups, including a few baseball leagues.

The money was collected from a portion of daily sales during opening week at the four new Market 32 locations in the Capital Region. Team officials said the money is a great start to getting the teams the equipment they need.

“We are going to put it towards our goal of replacing our lights on our fields, and one of our travel teams came over with us,” Andy Garrigan with the Southern Rensselaer County Baseball Association said. “We are going to use some of that money for their travel experience this summer.”

A portion of the funds is also going to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.
