    2,500 lose power in York County from severe storms

    ROCK HILL, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Severe thunderstorms have knocked out power for more than 2,500 people in York County Monday night.

    According to York Electric Cooperative, there are 2,127 customers without power north of Celanese Road in Rock Hill. The rest of them are in either Fort Mill or Lake Wylie.

    Another 450 Duke Energy customers lost power in Indian Land.

    A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for York and southwest Mecklenburg counties around 10 p.m., bringing heavy rain and lots of lightning to the area.
