Yazzy and her grandfather, John Tucker, have been wowing people on social media since they began teaming up in 2020. But a video they posted on July 5th is one of their most loved by far.

As Yazzy explained in another clip , her grandfather “suffers from sensory loss” and is nearly deaf and blind. Over the past four years, she has spent time teaching him new songs, but it has become increasingly harder.

Yazzy admitted that sometimes the process is frustrating for both of them. But they don’t give up because when songs finally come together, the music is healing.

“Everyone just loves Grandad on TikTok, and it’s so lovely,” Yazzy told BBC in 2022. “…In the last couple of years, I discovered Grandad could sing, which has been lovely to share with him.”

John, who used to be active in choirs, shared that returning to music has been an amazing experience that makes him “feel very young.” He’s also extremely thankful for all the love he and Yazzy have gotten on her social media pages.

“If I could see all the people who watched our video,” he said after their first duet went viral, “I don’t know what I’d do.”
