I’m ‘boycotting Walmart’ over their absurd new policies – workers cost me 45mins by refusing to let me use self-checkout

A WALMART shopper has slammed the retailer in an online tirade after she was forced to use a regular cash register instead of a self-checkout machine.

The customer fumed after she didn't get answers from the store manager and wasted 45 minutes waiting in line.

According to the shopper, the self-checkout line was empty but she was still forced to use the one with a human cashier.

"I’m boycotting #Walmart!" the woman started in her angry Facebook rant.

She said she had 21 items and was directed to wait in a "regular line."

"The only lane open was the cigarette one. So after I grumbled a little bit she said I’d have to speak to a manager about it," she continued.

She explained that the woman in front of her had "2 weeks worth of groceries" so she grabbed the manager as he walked by to ask what was happening with the "crappy new policy."

"That’s just the way things are now," the manager told the shopper.

When the customer suggested he open more checkout lanes, he responded, "I don’t have enough people to do that."

In response to his answer, the shopper said "pointed to the 4 employees that were talking and standing in front of the service counter" and suggested they be put on registers.

"Well this is a high theft store," responded the manager.

"What does that have to do with 4 employees standing there talking?" the shopper questioned.

The store manager said the employees might be on break or changing shifts.

He stood beside her and she counted 13 people behind her trying to check out.

"As I started putting my 21 items on the belts those 4 women started opening their registers and turned their lights on.

She vowed that she would call another Walmart in the area to see if "they had that bull crap policy now."

"I would pass right by that store and go to it," she fumed.

"He [the manager] said that’s your choice and walked off!!

    "I could’ve been home 45 minutes ago if they’d let me use self-checkout! #BoycottWalmart."

    FRUSTRATED CUSTOMERS

Walmart's anti-theft attempt at closing its self-checkout lanes isn't the only policy angering shoppers.

Receipt checks also cause discourse among shoppers on social media.

On X, the retail giant responded to one shopper who claimed a worker went too far with a receipt check.

"@Walmart one of your 'Karen receipt police' put their hands on my husband while we were leaving because she wanted our receipt," the user tweeted.

"She placed her hand on my husband's arm to express her opinion.

"If this happens again this conversation will be had on a different platform than X."

The user also included a picture of their receipt which totaled $216.11.

Walmart quickly responded to the shopper, saying: "Matters like this are very serious, and we'd like to know more. Could you please send a DM with more information?"

The U.S. Sun has contacted Walmart for comment.
