The Las Vegas Raiders have a ton of history. They are one of the most respected franchises in all of sports, because of the winning ways they once had, but also their culture. And, let's not forget how innovative they have been and pioneers of certain things as well, with guys like Art Shell and Tom Flores leading the charge.

But, for the last 20 years, a lot of that history has been forgotten That happens when you haven't won a single playoff game in that same time frame. It will take time to get that same respect back. But, the Raiders think they have the roster and coaching staff to do it.

Maxx Crosby, one of the best defensive players in the league , if not the best, knows what the Raiders need to do during the next step of this process.

"Yeah, you know, AP [head coach Antonio Pierce] has been awesome since he got here," Maxx Crosby said at Summer League in Las Vegas. "We talk about it, the past is the past, you have to respect history, and that's what I'm all about. But, it's time for us to make our own history. That’s what I'm all about, and that's what AP is trying to do. And, we want to be the ones to recreate that history."

The last time the Raiders made the playoffs was a few years ago when Jon Gruden was fired. If they can make it back, and win a game in the postseason this year, they are more than on the right path. This roster has the talent to do just that, but they will need some more improvements to win a Super Bowl.

They are still a bit away from making their own history with a Super Bowl win. However, they aren't as far away from a playoff win as some would think. Maxx Crosby and the Raiders know what needs to be done.
