The upcoming film “F1,” produced by the seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, promises a thrilling dive into the high-octane world of Formula 1 racing. With prestigious names like Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures involved, the film seeks to capture the allure and intensity of one of the world’s most exhilarating sports.

Helmed by acclaimed director Joseph Kosinski, and produced alongside industry stalwarts such as Jerry Bruckheimer and Brad Pitt, “F1” narrates the tale of Sonny Hayes, a character played by Pitt himself. Hayes is a retired F1 driver who makes a spectacular return to the racing scene, shaking up the dynamics and challenging new talents like Joshua Pearce, a rookie driver portrayed by Damson Idris for the fictional team APXGP.

The choice of filming locations has been nothing short of glamorous and authentic, closely mirroring the global appeal of Formula 1 racing. The production has spanned some of the world’s most iconic F1 circuits, including Silverstone in the UK and Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, not forgetting a scenic setup along the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. In 2024, the filming continues, enveloping race tracks like Hungaroring and Spa Francorchamps, among others, making for not only a spectacle of dramatic storytelling but also a visual celebration of the sport’s most iconic venues.

Audiences worldwide can look forward to the teaser of “F1,” which will premiere on July 7, 2024, at 14:35 BST during the Formula 1 world feed, promising a sneak peek into the adrenaline-fueled drama. The film is scheduled to hit theaters across North America on June 27, 2025, following an international release slated for June 25, 2025. Viewers will have the choice to enjoy the cinematic experience in standard or the more immersive IMAX® format.

The involvement of figures like Hamilton, who is not only producing but also pouring his firsthand F1 insights into the project, and Pitt’s dual role as lead actor and co-producer, points to a film crafted with authenticity and profound respect for the sport. “F1” is not just a film about car racing; it is an homage to the quest for speed, precision, and the relentless spirit of competition that defines Formula 1.
