‘Priming her for a life of bullying’ people cry as woman reveals how brother ‘doomed’ her niece with ‘two crazy names’

A WOMAN has revealed she's had to "put her foot down" after her brother revealed the two tragic names he'd chosen for his baby girl.

She explained that while the first name he'd settled on - in the "same vein as something like Tizzy" - "wasn't completely objectionable", and also "grew on" family and friends.

He then "agonised for months" about the child's middle name, and eventually settled on "Ooh la la".

"My brother and I had a tenuous relationship at that point in time, but I had to put my foot down," she continued in the post on Reddit.

"Tizzy was already a lot... don't doom this child to two crazy names!!

"At least give her one conventional name as a back up."

Her "vehement pushback" was enough to eventually convince her brother to go for a "very classic, universal middle name" for his daughter.

She then added: "I should clarify that my niece's first name is not actually 'Tizzy' as I wanted to protect her identity.

"Her official first name is something similar, equally unique and sounding very much like a nickname."

In the comments section, people were equally horrified by the name choices, as one wrote: "'Ooh la la' is priming her for a life of bullying."

"Or a life of success if she becomes a stripper," another pointed out.

"I already thought Tizzy alone sounded like a stripper name," a third agreed.

"Ooh la la was just icing on the cake."

"Tizzy Ooh La La would make a GREAT drag queen name," someone else insisted.

"I had a friend that wanted to name her daughter Cinnamon." another wrote.

"I blurted out 'do you want her to be a stripper?'

"She was mad but ended up naming the baby after her grandmother.

"Tragedeigh averted!"

"It sounds like a pedigree name for a French bulldog," someone else raged.

As someone else said that the name would work perfectly as a nickname - just not as an official moniker.

"My children have unusual animal nicknames," they wrote.

"(In my country many people call their children mouse or sparrow or hare sometimes bear, frog, moth or pug. But my children have nicknames no one would recognize as nicknames, when they read it).

"And we love it. Both children love it and use it wherever they don't wanna tell their real name.

"Everyone of my friends and family love it.

"But it really wouldn't be a good official name at all!"
