    The 5 most expensive homes sold in September 2023 included a $1.5 million property

    Vanderburgh County's most expensive home sales in September 2023 included several properties on the West Side of town, McCutchanville, and surrounding area.

    A total of 279 homes sold in September 2023, a decrease from the previous month's 358. The biggest sale came in at $1,590,000, almost double from August's top seller, which brought in $845,000.

    The average home during the month cost $180,181, about 6% lower than homes sold in August.

    Here's a look at five of the most expensive home sales that month, according to the Vanderburgh County Assessor's Office.

    2046 Oldbury Way, $1.59 million

    Sitting on three acres of land, this four-bedroom home is a getaway from the city on the North Side.

    The interior of the home features 15-foot ceilings and heated floors throughout the house. The kitchen has new appliances, a wine fridge, a walk-in pantry, a center island with a vegetable sink, and access to the covered patio on the deck. The owner's suite features an entrance to a private patio, a custom closet with ceiling-to-floor cabinets, a built-in ironing board, and an ensuite with custom mirrors, an oversized jetted tub, a steam shower, and heated floors.

    The lower level features three bedrooms, two full baths, and an exercise room with an extra bath. The outside of the home includes lakes fully stocked with bass and bluegill, a garage with upstairs storage and an area for a dock.
