Kevin Conroy’s Final Batman Lines Revealed in Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3

The final lines of Kevin Conroy as Batman have been revealed. The late actor voices the Caped Crusader for the last time in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3, which posthumously came out on digital platforms on July 16, 2024.

In Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3, Conroy voices Batman / Bruce Wayne of Earth-12, which is almost identical to the DCAU created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. Appearing alongside Mark Hamill’s The Joker, Conroy’s Batman declares, “I care, Joker… about Gotham… about justice. And if it has to end… at least I go out like this… being Batman.”

The scene takes place on the rooftop of a building in Earth-12’s Gotham. As an anti-matter wave engulfs the universe, The Joker tries to sneak up on Batman, but the Caped Crusader throws him off. The Joker then laughs and remarks that he is “flattered.” He says, “The end of the world and you want to spend it with me. I didn’t know you cared.” This prompts the above-mentioned comment from Batman. (via Culture Crave)

Conroy voiced Bruce Wayne / Batman for the first time in Batman: The Animated Series (1992–1995) and went on to portray the character in various other entries in the DCAU and in other animated TV shows and video games. Conroy played the live-action version of Bruce Wayne (Earth-99) in a first-season episode (part of the Arrowverse Crisis on Infinite Earth crossover event) of the CW series Batwoman (2019-2022). This was Conroy’s final on-screen appearance.

Conroy passed away in a hospital on November 10, 2022, due to complications related to intestinal cancer. He was 66 years old at the time.

Notably, Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3 also marks Hamill’s final outing as Joker. Conroy and the Star Wars actor have voiced their respective characters together since Batman: The Animated Series. After Conroy’s death, Hamill announced he would no longer voice the Clown Prince of Crime.

“We were like partners. We were like Laurel and Hardy. Without Kevin there, there doesn’t seem to be a Batman for me,” Hamill said. (via Screen Rant)
