Kuwait, one of the world’s largest oil producers, announced it had found a “huge” discovery in offshore fields. What is known as the Al-Nukhida field, which is east of the Kuwait state Failaka Island, has initial estimated reserves of over 2.1 billion barrels of light oil. Kuwait wants to increase overall production by the decade’s end. The only nations with larger proven oil reserves are Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Canada, and Iraq. Climatecrisis247 believes that this is part of a recent trend that shows fossil fuel production will continue to rise in the decade ahead. Energy demand worldwide will not fall, and renewables like solar and wind are not coming online fast enough. The result of this is that energy use will likely contribute more to global warming.

New York Energy Crisis? –Not Enough Electricity

Global warming is making days longer, according to a study titled “The increasingly dominant role of climate change on length of day variations” which ran in PNAS. The authors wrote, “Modern climate change is unprecedented. In recent decades, it has accelerated the melting of glaciers and polar ice sheets, leading to a rise in sea level. This pole-to-equator mass transport has significantly increased the Earth’s oblateness and length of day (LOD) since 1900.” The change is tiny and is measured in milliseconds. However, several critical services could be affected. This includes the internet, GPS, and financial services. The Guardian reports ,” Human timekeeping is based on atomic clocks, which are extremely precise.” Climatecrisis247 believes that is another scientific discovery about the role of climate change in activities essential to daily life. It is also an example of advances in science that make this detection possible.

    Dangerous Burns

The number of people dying from burns due to hot weather continues to rise. According to Semafor, “Burns and fatalities from contact with searing hot sidewalks and roads are on the rise in the US. During a scorching summer in Phoenix, Arizona last year, a burns center treated 136 patients for contact burns from outdoor surfaces, with 14 deaths; it saw 85 such cases in 2022.” Climatecrisis247 believes that burns have not been on the medical radar of the effects of climate change. Heat deather based on heat stroke have been. This is a new front in the medical war against hte effects of global warming.

    Political Climate

There are worries about the vice presidentcy of JD Vance, who is essentially a climate denier. Climatecrisis247 believes that there will be a complete 180 on climate change policity if the Republicans take The White House .
