Since its announcement several months back, fans have eagerly awaited a glimpse into Janhvi Kapoor‘s highly anticipated film Ulajh. From the release date announcement to the recent poster release, the filmmakers have kept the plot shrouded in secrecy. Finally, the trailer is here, shedding light on the cast and plot of this gripping political thriller.

What is Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming movie Ulajh release date?

Janhvi Kapoor first teased Ulajh with a poster a few months back, where she was seen dressed as a diplomat. This piqued the interest of many fans. Soon after, a teaser trailer revealed that Ulajh is slated to release on August 2, 2024.

The newly released trailer reveals that Ulajh is a political thriller featuring Janhvi Kapoor as Suhana Bhatia, a young and ambitious Deputy High Commissioner. Suhana, a graduate of St. Stephen’s College and Harvard University, finds herself under scrutiny as colleagues and the public question her abilities and accuse her of nepotism. Moreover, Roshan Mathew’s character taunts her by asking, “What does she have, other than her family surname?”

Furthermore, the teaser reveals that Suhana is entangled in a web of conspiracies and espionage. The tension escalates with the entry of Gulshan Devaiah’s character, an undercover agent who interacts with Suhana in a tense exchange about confidential papers. The trailer hints at an internal leak within the government, putting the lives of two undercover agents in jeopardy. Is Suhan in danger, or is she a spy? This question will only be answered after the film’s release.

Director Sudhanshu Saria describes Ulajh as a film about the “conundrum of choices” set against the backdrop of the high-stakes world of international diplomacy. He said, “Directing this spectacular cast, led by Janhvi, Gulshan, and Roshan, has been a privilege. They have all brought remarkable depth to their characters and elevated the narrative.”
