K-pop act BTS is officially in their chapter 2, filled with solo content. Only in 2024, the Grammy-nominated Korean music group teased several solo projects, including albums, documentaries, concert movie releases in theaters, and variety shows. Halfway across the year, we look at all the BTS solo activities of 2024, including the ones that are on the way.

BTS‘ solo era started at the end of 2022 after the group announced they would take a hiatus for their military schedule. Kim Seok Jin became the first member to enlist in the military after releasing her solo single, “Astronaut.”

Though all BTS members had released solo content before Chapter 2, the new era focused on each member’s creativity and passion. Whether it is an album, documentary, or variety show, BTS members highlight their unique ways of charming fans.

What are the BTS members doing in 2024?

There is no dull month in BTS ARMY land. 2024 started with BTS V‘s collaboration news with K-pop queen IU in the new track, “Love Wins All.” The music video featuring V, aka Kim Tahyung, garnered over 72 million views in a few months. Fans praised the member’s acting talent, urging BigHit Music to encourage the singer to take on more acting projects.

Following “Love Wins All,” BTS V came back with another exciting new song, “FRI(END)S,” which dropped on March 15, 2024. The single ranked 65 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking his fourth song to earn an entry.

BTS J-Hope was the next on the list, releasing a docu-series and his comeback album, Hope On The Street, at the end of March. Suga became the next member to release his concert cinema worldwide titled August D-Day Tour, which hit the screens on April 10.

RM, the leader of Bangtan Boys, also entered the 2024 content list with the release of his solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, on May 24. Along with commercial performance, the project won the hearts of music critics worldwide, and it has already found a place in various publications, including Billboard‘s Best Album Releases of 2024 lists.

June and July were festive as BTS celebrated their 11th anniversary and ARMY’s birthday on July 9. For BTS Festa, Bangtan’s youngest member, Jungkook, dropped the new song, “Never Let Go,” on June 7. For ARMY’s birthday, BTS V shared his new photobook ‘TYPE 1.’

After some eventful months, let’s look at all the upcoming BTS solo projects that will be released later, including Jimin’s Muse album and JiKook’s new travel variety show.

    BTS Jimin’s new album Muse

Jimin started his comeback season by dropping the pre-released track “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band,” featuring rapper Loco on June 28. The 29-year-old singer will release his new album, Muse, on July 19 at 1 a.m. KST and 12 a.m. ET.

The track contains over six tracks, including “Intro: Rebirth,” “Who,” “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band,” “Slow Dance” (featuring Sofia Carson), “Interlude: Showtime,” “Be Mine,” and “Closer Than This.”

Jungkook and Jimin’s show Are You Sure?

Following Jimin’s Muse release, BTS ARMY will receive another treat from the Bangtan’s troublemakers gang, Jimin and Jungkook. The duo will release their Disney Plus travel show Are You Sure? on August 8.

As per the show’s trailer, JiKook (Jimin and Jungkook’s nickname as a duo) has traveled to multiple destinations for their travel show. The duo visited New York in the U.S., Jeju Island in South Korea, and Sapporo in Japan to explore various activities.

    Jungkook’s movie I Am Still

BTS Jungkook will follow Suga’s footsteps and release a new movie, I Am Still, in theaters. The “Seven” crooner hinted at this project at one of his Weverse live shows, where he shared his wish to rent a theater and watch movies together.

Jungkook’s wishful thinking hinted at his upcoming project, which has yet to be released. Fans speculate that the project could be a concert movie with his solo performance in the limelight. It can also be a documentary film, as the singer has traveled to a few places while promoting his debut album, “Golden.”

    BTS Jin’s solo album

Seok Jin has returned from the military and started his new era with a historic beginning. The 31-year-old K-pop star represented South Korea by participating in an Olympic torch relay in Paris.

The “Super Tuna” crooner also prepares for his new album, details of which will drop once Jimin’s album gets released. Jin remains the only BTS member who has yet to release a solo album, so fans look forward to seeing what’s in store for them from the oldest member of the history-making K-pop group.
