Wiz Khalifa apologized after he was arrested for drug possession during a concert in Romania.

The Pittsburgh rapper was in the European country on Saturday night, July 13, to perform at the Beach, Please! Music Festival. Footage from the festival's livestream showed him lighting up a joint during his performance. Following his set, Wiz was surrounded by police and led out of the venue. He was arrested and charged with illegal drug possession, however, he was released from custody shortly afterward. After video of his arrest circulated throughout social media, Wiz issued an apology to his fans.

“Last nights show was amazing,” Khalifa wrote in a statement posted to X. “I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage. They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big ass joint next time.”

According to a translated statement that Romanian crime prosecutors DIICOT provided to The Hollywood Reporter , Wiz "possessed over 18 grams of cannabis (risk drug) and consumed (onstage) another amount of cannabis under the shape of a craft cigarette." Recreational use of cannabis is illegal in Romania.

“We make it clear that, during the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence," the statement said.

Wiz was arrested nearly a month after he announced he and his girlfriend Aimee Aguilar are expecting their first child together . In a joint Instagram post with Clear Blue, Wiz and Aimee confirmed they plan to welcome a new baby girl into the world.
