The ongoing workplace romance Chinese drama As Beautiful as You, featuring Xu Kai and Tan Songyun in the lead roles, released episode 23 on July 15, 2024. As seen in the official trailer, Han Ting (Xu Kai) invests in Ji Xing’s (Tan Songyun) company after she resigns from her job on a whim to pursue her dream of entrepreneurship. Episode 23 focuses on the aftermath of Ji Xing spending the night at Han Ting’s place.

In this episode, Ji Xing wakes up in Han Ting’s bed to a bunch of worried messages from her friends. As soon as she remembers what happened the night before, she gets extremely embarrassed. Ji Xing notices Han Ting in the next room, busy on his phone. She decides to get out of his house quietly, so she doesn’t have to encounter him. However, on her way out, she bumps into Han Ting’s secretary, who informs him about her departure.

Ji Xing directly goes to her office and comes face to face with Li Li, who asks her about her whereabouts. She lies about staying overnight at a friend’s place but Li Li catches her. She ultimately confesses that she was with Han Ting. Ji Xing reveals that she doesn’t know what kind of relationship she has with him as he has never confessed his feelings to her. Li Li advises her to take some time off of work and go on a vacation to clear her head.

Han Ting visits Ji Xing’s office, only to find that she has flown back to her hometown. He doesn’t understand why she has been avoiding him. Xiaoyao advises him to take things slow as Ji Xing is shy and doesn’t know how to face him after the night of intimacy.

Meanwhile, Ji Xing is at her parent’s house, enjoying her time off. She patiently waits for a message from Han Ting. The duo both lay awake in their beds at night, waiting for the other person to contact first. Meanwhile, Han Ting instructs his secretary to contact Ji Xing.

Why is Tan Songyun avoiding Xu Kai?

Ji Xing plans to send Zhi Zhou for the briefing, as she has an important entrepreneurs’ forum to attend. Zhou initially turns down her request. He is scared from his last interaction with Han Ting that didn’t go smoothly. But eventually he comes around. When Han Ting sees Zhou walk inside the door, instead of Ji Xing, he gets pissed.

He learns about the forum from Zhou and how sincerely Ji Xing has been preparing for her speech. On the other hand, Ji Xing is hard at work. She watches Han Ting’s speeches to take notes and prepare for her upcoming discourse. But every time she looks at Han Ting, she recalls their intimate moments together and gets flustered.

The next day, Ji Xing arrives at the conference. She gets extremely surprised to see Han Ting standing in front of her. He confronts her asking why she has been avoiding him but she doesn’t know what to answer. He reviews Ji Xing’s script and to his surprise it look awfully similar to what he may say. Han Ting advises her to not only be proper but also be sincere while delivering her speech. Furthermore, he invites her to dinner after the event.

What happens in As Beautiful As You episode 23’s ending?

Ji Xing briefly discusses the cases their company has handled in her speech. Her humble yet powerful presentation receives applaud from the attendees. On their way to the dinner, the duo makes small conversations. The dinner has been arranged to acquaint Ji Xing with the board members. Han Ting gets angry when one of the members ask Ji Xing to give special attention to Mr. Chang He.
