JACKSON — Troopers from the Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle injury crash around 8:13 p.m. Sunday, July 14, that occurred on Limerick Road just north of Big Rock Road in Jackson County.

Regenia Lear, 62, of Laurelville was operating a black 2014 Volkswagen Passat and Haylie Johnson, 19, of Beaver, was operating a gray 2011 Toyota Camry, according to the OSHP. Lear was traveling southbound on Limerick Road and Johnson was traveling northbound on Limerick Road when she drove left of center in a curve, and struck Lear head-on, according to the OSHP. Occupants in both vehicles sustained minor injuries, and were transported by Jackson County EMS to Holzer Hospital in Jackson.

Jackson County Emergency Medical Services, Liberty Township Fire Department, Bobst Towing, and Fletcher’s Towing assisted at the scene.

Both lanes of Limerick Road were closed for approximately two hours while the crash was investigated and the scene was cleared. The crash remains under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol would like to remind motorists to never drive distracted and always buckle up.
