    UPDATED: Gadsden County 911 not impacted by radio tower issues

    UPDATE 1:45 P.M.

    The Gadsden County Sheriff updated us on this situation. In an email sent hours after their initial Facebook post a public information officer said the county does not presently have an 911 issues. She said they have radio tower issues.

    "We are currently experiencing radio tower issues that have temporarily impacted our law enforcement, fire and EMS services in some areas," the statement read. They added 911 is not impacted at this time. A the statement concluded with, "a service crew is diligently working to resolve this matter."

    The Gadsden County Sheriff's Office said a temporary power outage due to a lightning strike may impact the 911 emergency system.

    GCSO posted about the potential impacts on Facebook Tuesday morning. In that post they wrote:

    We are currently experiencing an unfortunate yet temporary outage due to an electrical/ lightning hit of the 911 Emergency system, which may affect calls received. In case of an emergency, if you call 911 and get a fast busy signal, call the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office directly at 850-875-8811.

    The sheriff's office said crews are working to get the full service back up.
