ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive Art of a Hit trailer, previewing the upcoming musical-horror thriller about a band’s desire to stay relevant. The movie is set to release on August 20, 2024.

What happens in the Art of a Hit trailer?

The trailer details a rock band that was once successful in the 1990s and early 2000s but has since faded out of the limelight. After accepting an invitation to a French chateau to record an album, the band quickly realizes that not everything is what was promised.

Art of a Hit is directed by Gaelan Draper, from a script co-written by Charlie Saxton and Draper, both of whom also serve as producers on the project. The film stars Ryan Donowho, Charlie Saxton, Tim Jo, Rob Raco, James Earl, Allie MacDonald, and David Valdes.

Check out the exclusive Art of a Hit trailer below (watch other clips and trailers):

The movie “follows a rock band who saw soaring heights of success in the late 90s but are now haunted by irrelevance. Struggling to regain visibility a decade after the band’s prime, lead singer Ryan (Ryan Donowho) accepts eccentric super producer Charlie Dupont (Charlie Saxton)’s invite for the band to join him in a 1000-year-old French chateau to record a comeback album. But as tensions rise and tempers flare, Ryan and his bandmates realize they’re up against more than just the pressure to succeed,” reads the film’s official synopsis.

“Art of a Hit takes everything we love about the late ‘90s and early 2000s rock scene and jams it into a wildly creepy castle in the most beautiful place on earth: Dordogne, France. It’s funny, scary, messed up and honest—a story about what it’s like to be in a band and the insane fears of trying to make it as an artist. If you love late 90s rock, if you loved being in a band, you will love Art of a Hit,” Draper and Saxton said on the project.
