Wild Eye Releasing has unveiled the Catnado trailer, which shows a literal storm of cats causing havoc for humankind.

The tongue-in-cheek parody of the upcoming Twisters movie sees mother nature unleash hordes of enraged and deadly cats upon humanity in tornado form..

    Catnado trailer unleashes furry fury

What more do you need to know about a trailer for Catnado? It has cats in a tornado as promised. Here they are in all their low-budget glory.

”As chaos reigns, a disparate group of individuals has one mission: to stop this feline fury.” reads the official synopsis. ”But against such odds, and with only one life to spare per person, their battle becomes a cat-astrophic struggle for survival. And when the fur flies, it will be a meow-ssacre!”

You can also view the Catnado poster below, which does a fine job of showcasing the selling point of the latest natural disaster movie featuring animals.

Catnado’s human cast includes Erica Rowell Green, Joshua G Otto, Blair Kelly, Serena Salieri, and Tucky Williams. The movie comes from a litter of directors, including Tim Ritter, Donald Farmer, Curtis Everett, and Alaine Hungington. It comes from the minds behind other knowingly absurd movies such as Shark Exorcist and Sharks of the Corn.

Of course, long before our feline foes ended up in a flurry of fur inside a twister, we had the sea’s apex predators taking to the skies. The Asylum’s Sharknado series is easily the biggest success story in the admittedly niche sub-genre of ”animals fused with storms.” No, the cow in Twister doesn’t quite count.

Catnado touches down on VOD and DVD on October 22, 2024 from Wild Eye Releasing.
